Digital Art Commissions

Please contact me with any questions or for price quotes! Message me through the contact form on this website or email me at mnkartllc@gmail.com.

I’m happy to give you an estimate, so you have more understanding! This part makes me a little anxious too, so I want to make it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible for both of us!

The following commission prices are for personal use only. Commercial, promotional distribution, book covers, licensing prices, etc. are separate and will be an additional percentage fee that is discussed directly with the client.

PRICES are all base rates and are subject to change with any additional features.

·       Simple Snail Character $25 per snail (Minimal details and up to 4 colors. Examples: snail-iteez). Comes with a basic white or solid color background. If you would like to add a background design, the additional base rate will be $10+ and depend on the level of complexity you are requesting.

·       Complex Snail Character $50 per snail (approximately 5-10 colors, fine details, shading, etc. Example: Cyborg Snail). If you would like to add a background design, the background will add at least $10+ to the commission price and price depends on the level of complexity you are requesting.

·       Papercut Digital Art $250+ (examples: Phototrophic Sight, Arteries Feed the Bloom, Nectarie of Flesh artworks. Drawing only happens on the main layer colors. Up to four colors.)

·       Complex Papercut Digital Art $400+ (examples: Stoma’s Whisper, Flourish in the Shadows. Up to four main layer colors and four additional layer colors).

Prices include up to two revisions during the sketch phase. Any additional changes after that will incur extra charges depending on level of complexity and the amount of time it will take to complete the changes. I reserve the right to deny changes past a certain point in the design. Minor changes may not be subject to additional fees, so please reach out with any questions.

Commissions can take anywhere from 2 weeks to four months from the start of the invoice payment. The timeline will only begin after full payment is received and you will be provided with a specific timeline for your commission.

I want us both to feel happy at the end of the commission and with the final product!

COLLABORATION

The outcome of the artwork depends on collaboration and the details you provide me at the beginning. Remember, I don’t know what you want, so reference images, colors (bonus points if they include hex codes), written descriptions, and circling different parts of images that you like will all give me a better understanding too. I may suggest different variations of your colors to ensure they flow together nicely.

If some of my own work inspired you, please let me know which one(s) and we can discuss the elements you like/dislike/want to change. The more information the better!! :)

Failure to provide adequate information may result in extending the time of completing the commission and/or changes to the image which may come with additional charges. Please come as prepared as possible right at the beginning. I will ask follow up questions at the beginning too.

ADDITIONAL COSTS

As mentioned above, the rates listed above are base prices. Additional costs will depend on complexity, additional features to a design, and how key the addition is to the overall artwork. Examples include, but are not limited to:

·       Adding snail(s) to a papercut art piece,

·       Extra color layers added to the base rate layers above,

·       Blending of the two papercut digital art commissions,

I will draw fanart and original characters as snails.

I DO NOT DRAW the following which includes but is not limited to: people, animals, anime or cartoon styles, furries, cars/ vehicles, NSFW, etc. Most of the things I do not draw are because I do not like drawing them or do not have the specific art skill to draw them.

I reserve the right to reject any additional features that do not artistically align with my style and skills. Thank you for understanding!

As always, if you aren’t sure, please ask!

THE PROCESS

When you contact me, please provide:

·       Your name

·       Contact email

·       Type of commission (snail, Papercut digital artwork)

·       Full description, colors, reference images, Pinterest boards, written descriptions, inspiration images, etc. All the information needed for me to provide an accurate price for your commission. PLEASE BE SPECIFIC.

Once the overall design, commission, and price is agreed upon, I will send you an invoice for 100% of the cost prior to beginning the drawing. Once payment is received, I will begin drawing the artwork. When a basic drawing is formed, you will receive the first opportunity for revisions. After I receive your revision feedback, I will make those changes and give you the second revision opportunity. After this second time, I will proceed with the drawing.

* It is very important to provide as much detail as possible when providing feedback, which includes specific color changes, or design changes. Failure to provide me with enough details in your revision will increase overall time to complete the artwork and may result in additional fees.

* You will receive 72 hours during each revision to provide feedback. If I don’t receive your feedback within those two 72 hour time periods, I will assume you do not have any feedback and proceed with the drawing. You will not be given extensions during these times, except for emergency purposes or natural disasters only.

When I reach about 50% completion, I will send you a work in progress update to make sure I’m on the right track. Changes here are MINOR only as I will not be able to make large scale changes without charging additional fees.

When I am finished, you will be sent the image for a final review. No changes can occur at this time as multilayer drawings require a lot of editing throughout. Once I receive your approval and all invoices have been paid, I will send you a high-res PNG file (or another file of your choice) and you can make them into prints. I offer printing up to a certain size, but fees will be adjusted to include the cost of printing and shipping.

TERMS OF SERVICE

By requesting and confirming a commission, you hereby agree to the following terms of service:

  • I reserve the right to turn down, refuse or reject commission requests or additional feature requests.
  • The commissioned art can be used for my social media advertising.
  • Commercial + Distribution prices incur additional percentage fees and costs. These vary by client as discussed together and include promotional work like free prints that will be printed and distributed. Fees vary by terms of use as discussed with each individual client.
  • You will have one month to respond and accept a commission after receiving the quote/estimate. After one month, that quote is no longer valid as prices are not locked in and the cost may increase as prices are subject to change.
  • Once the process has started, there will be NO full refunds. If for whatever reason we are unable to continue the commission, no more than half of the total commission price will be refunded.
  • I do not offer printing services at this time. You will be provided with a high-resolution PNG file (or file of your choice like JPEG, Adobe Illustrator) to the email you provide when starting the commission. Again, you are paying for a digital file that you can print at your leisure. This file is for personal use only unless otherwise specified.
  • You are not entitled to redistribute or resell the work I have done, unless otherwise specified. Commercial use commissions need to contact me for more information and will incur additional percentage fees.
  • Any personal use/non-commercial work will have my signature and watermark included on the commission and cannot be removed from the commission. Commercial artwork has the option of being used without the watermark.
  • You are not entitled to use my artwork for any A.I. training.
  • You are not entitled to use or sell my artwork in any N.F.T.
  • You are not entitled to edit or alter my artwork in any way.

  • For personal use commissions, you may not remove/edit my signature in any way.
  • I reserve the right to share the artwork on my social media. If you would like to be tagged when I do share it, provide your social media handles.
  • You can share the commission on your social media platforms, but you must tag me and give me credit for the work.
  • You own the completed artwork, but the copyright and intellectual property remains with the artist. Unless otherwise specified in a contract agreement with additional percentage fees, which will be discussed and agreed upon on an individual client basis.
  • This commission agreement is within the governing law of Washington State.
  • By paying the invoice, you are agreeing to these terms.
